DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Catholic Camporee will be held at the Cricket Holler Scout Camp in Dayton on November 1-3\, 2019. \nThe Camporee will feature a Holy Day mass for All Saints Day on Friday evening and a Sunday vigil mass on Saturday evening. \nRegistration will open September 1\, 2019\, and the target cost for the weekend will be $20/person. \nPlanned events will include: \n\nEarning the St. Kateri Tekakwitha religious activity patch\nPrograms featuring Ohio Valley native American tribes\nLiturgy of the Hours\nA Vocations Panel discussion (one of the requirements for Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius emblems)\nScout Skill activities including orienteering\, First Aid and Native American games\nSaturday potluck dinner\nA service project\n\nThe Committee is looking for both youth and adults to serve on the Catholic Camporee Staff. The Staff will meet on weekends prior to the Camporee to plan for the event. DESCRIPTION:This Summit will be an opportunity for the ACCoS to discuss our goals and future plans and an opportunity for representatives from each Unit to learn best practices for promoting the Catholic Religious Emblems programs and adding Scouting in the Catholic Church to your Unit programs. \nEvery Unit with Catholic Scouts\, whether sponsored by a Catholic organization or not\, should plan to send at least one representative to this annual gathering. That way your input will be part of the planning for the Catholic Religious Emblems Programs\, the upcoming Cathedral Ceremony\, the Catholic Scout retreat and the future course of the Catholic Committee on Scouting. \nAnd all current and prospective Religious Emblems Coordinators/Counselors/Facilitators should plan to attend to share their experiences and to discuss their successes and challenges to provide any recommendations to improve the support provided by the ACCoS. \nPlease RSVP to let us know who is planning to attend by emailing Tom Wiles at chair@archcincyccos.org.

DESCRIPTION:November 2\, 3\, 4 Catholic Camporee:  “Strength Through Faith” \nCome join us at the Maria Stein Spiritual Center for fellowship\, faith\, service and fun!  We’ll be visiting the Relics Chapel\, where you’ll be able to experience a collection of over 1\,000 saint relics\, including the veneration of the True Cross.  There will also be some traditional scout-skill games and another first-aid challenge!  Plan on sharing a pot-luck dinner Saturday followed by Mass.  Cost of the retreat is $20 per youth/adult\, and includes the patch\, Saturday lunch\, Saturday cracker barrel and Sunday light breakfast.  Note that the cost includes a tent camp site\, which will be assigned upon arrival. (If your troop prefers a dorm\, you’ll need to separately reserve that with the Spiritual Center.) \nRegistration is now open; find the form at the end of the leader’s guide! DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in becoming a Counselor or Facilitator for Catholic Religious Emblems?  If so\, please plan to attend the upcoming mandatory training session on August 12\, 2018\, from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Scout Achievement Center\, 10078 Reading Rd\, Cincinnati 45241.  Please RSVP to Tom Wiles\, chair@archcincyccos.org\, by August 6 if you plan to attend. \nAll adults intending to lead a Boy Scout Emblems program (Ad Altare Dei or Pope Pius XII) must meet the Archdiocese and BSA youth protection requirements prior to beginning a Religious Emblems program.  The details of these youth protection requirements will be discussed at the training.  These requirements are also highly recommended for Cub Scout Emblems Coordinators. \nNew Counselors and Facilitators for the Boy Scout Religious Emblems must complete the following before attending this training: \n\nPurchase the Ad Altare Dei Counselor’s Guide and Youth Manual or the Pope Pius XII Facilitator Manual and Participant Manual from the Scout Shop or ScoutStuff.org\, and bring the book with you to the training.\nObtain permission from your Parish Priest to lead a Religious Emblems Program by completing the Intent to Begin form in the front of the Counselor’s Guide or Facilitator Manual\, and bring a copy of this completed form to the training.\nComplete Virtus and BSA Youth Protection (online training)\, or have these requirements scheduled and completed before beginning the program.\n\nFor those of you that are already Counselors or Facilitators and would be interested in sharing your experience or expertise with these programs\, your attendance at this training would be greatly appreciated. \nPlease Note: This training is open to all adults in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati; however\, for adults in the northern portions of the Archdiocese\, additional training options are available in the Dayton area on an as-needed basis.
